Hurricane Katrina Damage

I took these pictures on 9/18/05, the day I arrived back in Metairie.  We were lucky to be on the dry side of the 17th street canal, however there was wind damage to the school and church.

There was a lot of debris in the small yard.  I wouldn't drive my car back there just yet.

The north side of Blanche Hall had many windows blown out on the second floor.  This seemed to be the worst of the damage.

Another picture of Blanche Hall.

Marion Hall did have a few broken windows but did not suffer too much damage.

The upper branches of the tree in this picture touched Marion Hall but miraculously did not break any windows.

The Lorio center had a bit of roof damage on the north end of the building.

The church suffered some roof damage.  Notice the speakers are out of place.  I did hear the bells ringing this morning.

Here is another view of the church from the west.  I can't tell how much roof damage the trees have caused.

Here is a picture of the cafeteria.  You can see the pots and pans from the broken windows.
